April meeting will be hosted by Henry’s parents,
Chris DeMarco and Francine Hartman
Call 241-3039 or fmhartman@mac.com if questions

Tuesday, April 25
6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Let’s take advantage of the increased daylight and tour Olbrich Gardens!
We’ll meet in the interior entrance of Olbrich Gardens, and then have a
30 to 45 minute walk and (brief) discussion of the gardens (no entrance
fee). Meeting to adjourn approx. 7:30 p.m., and then we will treat
kids and parents to frozen custard at Michael’s on Monona Drive.

There are a few places to grab a quick supper in the neighborhood
(Monty’s Blue Plate Diner, Bunky’s, and Glass Nickel Pizza on Atwood
Ave., and Culver’s on Cottage Grove Rd.), if you want to have eat
dinner on the way.

If you arrive a bit early, there is a big park across from Olbrich, and
a smaller park and playground just west of the Olbrich parking lot.

Just a reminder that the Tiger Cubs should be working to achieve the Tiger Cub Immediate Recognition Emblem. In order to achieve this emblem the boys should:

 Learn the Tiger Cub motto: Search, Discover, Share
 Learn the Cub Scout sign
 Learn the Cub Scout salute

Once this has been done, the boys will be awarded the Tiger Cub Immediate Recognition Emblem at a pack meeting. You will need to let us know when this has been done so we can let Mr. Darcy know.

In case you haven’t read pages 1-25 in the Tiger Cub Handbook, here’s a summary of what the boys will need to work towards achieving this year. There are five achievements in the Tiger Cubs:

 Making My Family Special
 Where I Live
 Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe
 How I tell It
 Let’s Go Outdoors

Each of these five achievements has 3 parts: a family activity, a den activity, and a Go See It outing. You can use the presentations at the pack meetings and the focus of the den meetings towards earning each achievement. Go See It outings can coincide with your normal family activities and don’t need to be planned additional activities. There is no formal testing for these achievements. It’s just up to you to decide if your child has the basic idea of each achievement.

If your child is Catholic, you will be receiving the Light of Christ Activity Book to work towards the Light of Christ emblem. We will be coordinating with the Wolf Cubs to visit with Father so he only needs to provide a single interview with all the boys. If your child is not Catholic, there are other faith electives to work toward.
